Oneida Democrats Have a New Home

In May, the Oneida County Democratic Party signed a lease for an office located at 1415 Eagle Street in Rhinelander. We have been moving furniture and equipment in as quickly as summer schedules of our volunteers allow, and we began holding our regular monthly meeting in the new office in June.

Our new office has a meeting room large enough for 40 people. One of the first uses for the meeting room was hosting two "Presidential Debate Watch" parties  on June 26 and 27. As long as there is interest, we plan to continue hosting debate watch parties throughout the entire campaign season.

We are working on other events, including a "Grand Opening," probably in early Fall. Watch for the announcement!

This office will also support other nearby northern Wisconsin counties, as we move collectively to build a more effective grass roots operation in support of progressive candidates at the local, state, and national level.

As we expand our hours, we will be asking for volunteers to help staff the office. And as we expand the use of our office, we will also be looking for volunteers to host, coordinate, and support these events. There is an obvious need for a permanent Democratic office in Oneida County, but the demands of running an office are quite different than those associated with election-year "Get Out the Vote" efforts that have been our major volunteer opportunities in recent years. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or would like to get involved in planning how to take best advantage of our new space, please contact one of the officers.
